Privacy
This site has no tracking and no advertising. It collects something only when you send a message through the contact or brief form, and it keeps a few preferences in your own browser.
Who is responsible
The site is run by its owner, who decides why and how the details below are used (the “data fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the “controller” under the GDPR). Contact: [OWNER EMAIL].
What the forms collect
Only what you type into a form, and only when you press send.
- Contact form: your name, your email address and your message.
- Brief form: your company or project name, your email address, the type of project and the budget range you choose, and your message.
A hidden field in each form exists to catch automated spam: a person never fills it, and a submission that has it filled is dropped. Where the site is set up with Cloudflare Turnstile, the form also sends a one-time token and your IP address to Cloudflare to check that a person is sending it; Cloudflare’s own terms apply to that check.
Nothing else is asked for. The site does not read your contacts, your location or your files.
Why
To read your message and reply to you. The email address is used to answer you and for nothing else: no newsletter, no list, no sale or sharing of it.
Where it goes
A submission is checked on the site’s server and sent by email (SMTP, encrypted in transit) to the owner’s mailbox. The server does not store the message in a database and does not write its content to its logs. The reply goes to the address you gave.
The server’s log records that a submission arrived: a random reference, the kind of form, the length of each field (never the text), the result of the delivery, and a shortened, salted, one-way fingerprint of your IP address (never the address itself). The same IP address is held in the server’s memory, without being written anywhere, to limit how many requests one network can make; it is gone when the server restarts.
The site’s host, and any service in front of it, may keep standard access logs (time, page and IP address). Those are kept by them under their own terms: [OWNER TO CONFIRM HOST AND ITS LOG RETENTION].
How long it is kept
Your email sits in the owner’s mailbox until it is no longer needed to answer you or to keep a record of the work you asked about, and not longer than [RETENTION PERIOD, OWNER TO SET]. Server log lines are kept for [LOG RETENTION PERIOD, OWNER TO SET].
Your choices and how to ask for deletion
Write to [OWNER EMAIL] from the address you used and ask to see, correct or delete what the owner holds about you, or to withdraw your consent to it. The owner will act on it and tell you when it is done. Under the DPDP Act 2023 and the GDPR you may also complain to the data protection authority that applies to you (in India, the Data Protection Board of India; in the EU or UK, your national authority).
Because the log keeps only a one-way fingerprint and field lengths, it cannot be searched for your message; the mailbox is where your details are, and that is what deletion removes.
What stays in your browser
The site sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s localStorage, only for things you would expect it to remember on this device, and nothing in it is sent to the server:
- your settings (sound, motion and the like);
- an unsent draft of a form, removed when the message is delivered;
- which hints you have seen and which wonders you have visited.
For speed the browser also keeps the image and data packs the site downloads in its Cache Storage. They are the same public files everyone gets, nothing is sent back, and they are removed with your site data too.
Clear your site data in the browser and all of it is gone. The site works without it.
No tracking, no advertising
There are no analytics, no advertising or tracking scripts, no third-party cookies and no fingerprinting. The fonts and the scripts are served from this site. The server may fetch public live data (satellite elements from CelesTrak, the owner’s public GitHub activity) for everyone; your browser does not contact those services and they receive nothing about you.
Images and data
Not affiliated with NASA, ESA, ESO or CelesTrak. Images and data are used under their licences.
Credits and licences are on the colophon.
